For their participation in the Largest One Day Blood Donation Campaign organised on 23.03.2021 by National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (NIFAA), NSS PUC Unit became a part of the record holders in the World Book of Records. The Certificate for this World record was awarded to the NSS PUC Unit on 11.05.2023 and the International Life Saver Award was also given to the unit on the same day. The Awards ceremony was held at Pachhunga University College where Dr. R Lalthangliana, Hon’ble Minister, Mizoram was the Chief Guest and Prof. H. Lalthanzara, Principal, Pachhunga University College was the Guest of Honour. Mr. Pritpal Singh Pannu, NIFAA National Founder Chairman and his colleagues were also present at this ceremony. On 23.03.2021, NIFAA organised Blood Donation Camps in different parts of India. There were 1,476 camps organised on this day where 1,27,675 people registered to be blood donors out of which 97,744 people were able to donate blood. NSS PUC Unit had organised voluntary blood donation camps for many years and have been recognised as the institution with the highest number of blood donors in Mizoram for quite some time. 

The record of blood donations by NSS PUC unit since 2017-2018 are as follows: 

2017-2018 session: 673 units of blood 

2018-2019 session: 794 units of blood 

2019-2020 session: 1073 units of blood 

2020-2021 session: 364 units of blood 

2021-2022 session: 651 units of blood 

2022-2023 session: 860 units of blood
